OUR PEOPLE
Matthew AU, Ph.D. & Solicitor Co-Founder
Dr. Matthew Au is a versatile veteran in technology, securities and banking. He was awarded degrees in computer science from Cornell University (B.Sc.) and University of Toronto (M.Sc.), in law and economics from University of London (LL.B.), Carleton University (M.A.) and University of British Columbia (Ph.D.) respectively. Dr. Au had served as software engineer and database specialist at Bell Canada and IBM Canada, and as product manager at Bank of America, department head at Goldman Sachs, for a total of over 20 years. Dr. Au is also a member of the Hong Kong Computer Society, the Hong Kong Securities and Investment Institute, the Hong Kong Law Society, the Hong Kong Institute of Arbitrators and the Hong Kong Institute of Patent Attorney, and director of the Intellectual Property Arbitration and Mediation Committee. He is the Co-Founder & Principal Consultant of Right IP.
Chi-Chiu WAN, LL.B. Co-Founder
Mr. Wan mainly focus on intellectual property registration with more than 10 years solid experience, and specializes trade mark search, analysis, filing and responding to official examination report. He had worked for a well-known Hong Kong law firm which is specialized in intellectual property as an supervisor and manager for more than 6 years before joining Right IP. Mr. Wan has awarded a legal certificate from HKU Space and a Bachelor of Laws degree (LL.B.) in intellectual property from Jinan University. He is the Co-Founder and Director of Right IP.
Sam HO, LL.B. & B.Econ Co-Founder
Mr. Ho has extensive experience in trade mark, design and patent applications. He had worked for a well-known intellectual property firm in mainland China for 5 years and an accounting firm in Hong Kong for 2 years before joining Right IP. He is well experienced on providing advice in relation to China anti-counterfeiting, online infringement issues and Customs intellectual property recordal. He has also assisted many Hong Kong clients to apply the Patent Application Grant which is a funding scheme to assist Hong Kong companies and individuals to apply for patents. Mr. Ho has awarded a Bachelor of Laws degree (LL.B.) in intellectual property and a Bachelor of Economics degree (LL.B.) in Finance from Jinan University. He is the Co-Founder & Manager of Right IP.
